IT Consultant

ORGANIZATION
The Rural India Supporting Trust has an internal directive and a shared commitment with its grantees to assist in the alleviation of poverty and ensure the well-being of the citizens of India. We do this by: Improving the quality of and increasing access to healthcare throughout the country. Assisting in providingaffordable services to people with mental health concerns so they can live a full quality of life as independently as possible. Reducing the degradation of natural resources.   

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the IT Consultant will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of Rural India Supporting Trust’s (RIST) information technology services, supporting planning & oversight for all technology initiatives. The consultant will also be working very closely with the team at The Hans Foundation (THF), RIST’s largest partner based in India, to set up workflow and processes for their grant management. The consultant will develop and manage IT policies and procedures and will be responsible for the training, compliance, and education of all staff on related issues. Individual will be considered the subject matter expert in all thing’s information technology.  

GENERAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. SurveyMonkey Apply (SMA) Software: Managing SMA Software Platform as Project Manager and system administrator Lead and collaborate with the vendor team to address RIST business process needs. This will include but not limited to technical requirement gathering, analysis, solution design and roll-out Coordinate with the vendor and THF Team to build out workflows, processes, and automations for grant management Provide training support to internal staff and end users (grantee partners) Create a knowledge repository by documenting RIST and THF processes on SMA Coordinating with vendor (SurveyMonkey) for any L2 and L3 based support incidents along with vendor account management and billing  

2. Information Technology Planning and Management:Engage in continuous evaluation and improvement of processes and workflow that use technology to increase RIST’s efficiency and effectiveness and promote end user (grantee) satisfaction: Review performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements. Make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems. Consult end users and stakeholders across the organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology Oversee the operation and maintenance of all RIST’s applications. Maintain existing programs, seeing that necessary updates are made. Ensure successful transfer of grantee data to the RIST’s new chosen platform, SmartSimple. 

3. Training:Lead technical competency and skills training to ensure technical proficiency of foundation staff. Creates and refines training materials and identifies need for and leads larger training sessions when necessary.  4. RIST Website Website front end and back-end management using WebFlow. Coordination with Internal Communication team for website content and updates Coordination with website vendor for any development and maintenance work Website vendor account & contract management  5. RIST Mailing Services Managing the Google and Microsoft Workplace Platform for RIST as system administrator Creation and management of user accounts as per requirements Coordinating with Google and Microsoft for any L2 based support incidents along with Billing and Account management  

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree and/or certifications preferred.

Experience: At least three years as an IT professional responsible for the overall development and design of technology functions, working in IT operations with nonprofit or foundations. Should be an expert in process-driven quality control and change management techniques.

Certifications: Advanced certifications preferred.  

CANDIDATES MUST:
Have strong hands-on skills with Microsoft Applications. Knowledge of SMA or similar grant management software is a plus.  Have sound knowledge of IT systems, innovations, specifications and computer systems; Ability to communicate to tech-savvy and non-technical staff Have strong project management skills, ability to effectively manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Have an ability to prioritize and execute effectively in a dynamic environment Have strong problem solving, excellent judgment, and strong critical thinking skills to identify problems and opportunities and generate effective next steps. Willingness to research and apply creative solutions Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills. Personable, innovative, and quick thinker who can grasp new information independently.

COMPENSATION
Compensation is competitive and in line with applicant’s experience.
