Conservation,Preservation and reversing degradation

Humans have been testing the strength of our planet’s ecosystems for millennium. This balanced reliance on all organisms within a given environment is what has allowed us to live, since the beginning of our existence.

The time is now for all of us to act before more species are extinct, more landscapes become uninhabitable and more of us die or become sick from simply living where we live. RIST sees efforts to preserve the environment as a direct link to all other efforts that seek to improve society.  Our health and economies are all a part of our environment.

RIST is doing its best to engage with partners that have expertise in conserving, preserving and cleaning up our environment. Assisting in saving an endangered species from extinction is just as important as cleaning up a polluted river or working towards reducing the air pollution in New Delhi.

ENVIRONMENT FOCUS AREAS

Conservation

RIST is supporting the last-chance effort to save the Great Indian Bustard from extinction. We are committed to long term contribution towards protecting the ecological diversity and environmental health of India.

Water Sanitation

RIST's efforts on environmental issues will focus mainly on  supporting solutions to the many problems associated with air and water pollution.

Although India has only 2.4% of the world's land area, its share of the global species diversity is an impressive 8.1%. That is what makes India one of the 12 megadiverse countries of the world.
